In the dynamic world of cryptocurrency, Kraken, a leading crypto exchange, is on the hunt for a seasoned professional to take on the role of Head of Lending. This exciting opportunity involves leading Kraken's global lending business, encompassing both on-platform and Over-the-Counter (OTC) activities.
As the Head of Lending, you will own and scale Kraken's lending business, driving growth, optimizing Return on Investment (ROI), and expanding institutional lending and yield offerings. Your responsibilities will span across strategy, product, and execution, with a focus on P&L and balance sheet performance.

To excel in this role, you'll need a solid background in lending, credit structuring, or balance sheet management, with at least 8 years of experience in either crypto or traditional finance. You should be adept at strategic thinking, product innovation, and cross-functional execution.
Your financial expertise should be evident in your ability to drive balance sheet ROI, manage credit risk, and structure scalable lending programs for multiple client segments. You should have a strong understanding of risk-adjusted returns, collateral valuation, and liquidity management.
In addition, you should have a strong background working closely with institutional clients, understanding their needs, risk appetite, and capital requirements. Knowledge of Decentralized Finance (DeFi) lending protocols and yield strategies is a plus, as is experience with traditional repo, securities lending, or prime finance.
You'll collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Product, Risk, Trading, Institutional Sales, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering to scale Kraken’s lending footprint, optimize balance sheet efficiency, and ensure regulatory readiness. You'll need to have the ability to align stakeholders across the firm and drive high-impact initiatives to execution.
It's a nice-to-have for the candidate to have experience with derivatives, structured credit, or tokenized collateral. You should also have a track record of scaling financial products.
