Launches scheduled for September 26th for Li Auto's i6 electric SUV, aiming for a monthly sales volume of up to 10,000 units.

Li Auto, the Chinese automaker, is set to launch its second pure-electric SUV, the Li i6, on September 26. This move comes after the lukewarm reception of the company's first electric SUV, the Li i8.

According to Li Auto's Weibo post, the Li i6 is a five-seat SUV, measuring 4.95 meters long with a 3-meter wheelbase. The company aims to provide families considering the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW, or Audi Q5 with an additional purchasing option.

The Li i6 offers single-motor and dual-motor options with a CLTC range of up to 720 kilometers. It features a low-drag design for reduced energy consumption and extended range. The price range for the Li i6 is approximately RMB 250,000 to RMB 300,000.

Li Auto's founder, chairman, and CEO, Li Xiang, stated on Weibo on September 1 that they aim to achieve stable monthly deliveries of 6,000 units for the Li i8 and 9,000-10,000 units for the Li i6 by the end of the year. This ambitious target is part of Li Auto's strategy to boost declining sales.

The company's August deliveries breakdown shows a continued decline in Extended Range Electric Vehicles (EREVs), but the Li Mega is nearing a record high. From January to August, Li Auto delivered 263,198 vehicles, down 8.64 percent year-on-year. The August deliveries stood at 28,529 vehicles, a 40.72 percent year-on-year decrease.

Li Auto's overall battery electric vehicle (BEV) models are expected to stabilize at 18,000-20,000 units monthly, including the Li Mega electric MPV. This optimistic forecast is based on Li X's statement on Weibo.

The company's stock symbol is NASDAQ: LI. With the launch of the Li i6, Li Auto hopes to regain its momentum in the competitive electric vehicle market.
