Freshening Up: OQUO's Overhauled LTD Line Puts the Pedal to the Metal

Basque brand, OQUO, unveils a fresh take on their popular LTD line of road and gravel wheels, complete with four brand-new models and a snazzy, home-grown hub platform. All ready for action right in OQUO's very own Basque headquarters.

Stepping into the spotlight as OQUO's sibling is Orbea. Together, they bring you the RA80 LTD, RA57 LTD, RP50 LTD, and RP35 LTD, all gleaming with OQUO's innovative Q10 hubs. And why are these hubs such a game-changer? They are claimed to deliver significant performance and reliability boosts.

Nestled in Markina-Xemein in the beautiful Basque Country, OQUO is brimming with pride, sharing that their wheels came about thanks to close collaboration with elite teams. They've poured their hearts into refining every inch, from rim to hub, and promise reduced friction, improved aerodynamics, and shaved off weight.

For the most aggressive speedsters out there, the RA80 LTD is about to be your new best friend—designed with a deep 80mm profile, it's set to shine as a time trial and crit wheel, primed for stability in crosswinds following wind-tunnel testing. On the other hand, the RA57 LTD caters to the more versatile among us, striking a balance between climbing performance and aerodynamic efficiency for challenging terrains and mixed racecourses.

If you're more of a gravel road or endurance rider, strap yourself into the RP50 LTD or RP35 LTD. Both boast wider rims, ready to play nice with your gravel and endurance road setups. The RP50 LTD sports a mid-depth profile and a shape that OQUO boasts performs exceptionally across road, cobbles, and light gravel—while still offering stable sailing in those pesky windy conditions thanks to increased width. The RP35 LTD, the lightweight contender, weighs in at a claimed 1,244g per set and is OQUO's climbing-focused option for those relentless road riders. Both sets are ready for action—tubeless-ready and featuring a mini-hook rim design that's said to enhance your tire fit, plus aerodynamics.

At the heart of these wheelsets is the OQUO-developed Q10 hub. This incredible contraption utilizes a Shark Ratchet system with a 45-tooth engagement and a furry, aerospace-inspired anti-friction ceramic treatment to minimize friction and improve engagement and durability. Made from strong 7075 T6 aluminum, these CNC-machined hubs are adorned with custom low-friction stainless steel bearings and boast full sealing against water and dust, making them well equipped to tackle even the harshest road conditions.

Need that instant gratification? Fear not, Q10 hubs boast a tool-free design, compatible with both Shimano and SRAM drivetrains. And they still manage to be lightweight, with the rear hub clocking in at 175g and the front at 104g—ranking among the lightest Center Lock road disc hubs in the business.

Pricing for these snazzy new wheels starts at 2.399€ / $2,499.00 / £2,110.00 and is available through OQUO's generous network of dealers and online. While independent testing is yet to prove the performance claims, OQUO's debut screams determination from this fledgling subsidiary in a highly competitive market.

Incorporating cutting-edge technology, OQUO debuts the Q10 hubs, found at the heart of their new LTD wheelsets, featured in the RA80 LTD, RA57 LTD, RP50 LTD, and RP35 LTD gadgets. Embodying OQUO's dedication to performance and reliability, these hubs utilize a Shark Ratchet system and aerospace-inspired anti-friction ceramic treatment.
