Tesla Expands Presence in India with New Delhi Dealership
Tesla is set to expand its footprint in India with the opening of a new dealership in Delhi. Located in Aerocity, near the Indira Gandhi International Airport, this will be the company's second dealership in the country, following the recent opening of its experience centre in Mumbai. Construction on the new dealership is nearly complete, and it is expected to be fully operational in the coming months.
Ather 450S Electric Scooter Gets a Battery Upgrade
Ather Energy has launched a new version of its 450S electric scooter, equipped with a larger 3.7 kWh battery pack. This upgrade extends the claimed IDC-certified range to 161 km, an increase of 40 km over the previous 2.9 kWh variant. The new model is priced at approximately ₹1.45–1.48 lakh (ex-showroom) depending on the city.
Key performance and feature details include:
- Motor: 5.4 kW electric motor producing 22 Nm torque (unchanged).
- Acceleration: 0 to 40 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
- Top speed: 90 km/h.
- Range: 161 km (IDC-certified).
- Charging: Domestic/home charger recharges 0 to 80% in about 4.5 hours, which is 1 hour faster than the smaller battery version.
- Riding modes: Four modes — Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, and Sport.
- Display: 7-inch DeepView touchscreen with Bluetooth, navigation, automatic brightness.
- Safety/Tech features: AutoHold, Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal, Alexa integration, OTA updates, compatible with Ather Grid fast-charging network.
- Design: No visual changes; same sharp styling and premium finish as earlier 450S models.
The new variant is positioned to bridge the gap between the base 450S (2.9 kWh battery) and the premium 450X variant, making the longer range more accessible without the higher price or advanced software features of the 450X.
Ather is also expected to soon introduce a cruise control update across the 450 series, potentially announced at the company’s 2025 Community Day in late August 2025. However, this feature is not yet available on the current 450S variant.
MG Motor Increases Astor SUV Prices
MG Motor has increased the prices of the Astor SUV by up to ₹19,000 across all variants. The revised prices for the Astor SUV range from ₹11.48 lakh to ₹17.63 lakh (ex-showroom).
Pricing Updates for Sharp Scooters
The Sharp Pro CVT has seen a ₹15,000 increase and is now priced at ₹16.64 lakh. The Select CVT now costs ₹15 lakh, following a ₹15,000 hike. At the top of the range, the Savvy Pro CVT is now priced at ₹17.63 lakh, after a ₹17,000 revision. The Sharp Pro MT has also had a ₹13,000 bump, costing ₹15.34 lakh. The Shine MT has seen the steepest increase of ₹19,000, bringing its price to ₹12.67 lakh. The base Sprint MT is now ₹18,000 costlier at ₹11.48 lakh.
The new dealership is expected to cater to customers across Delhi, Gurugram, and Faridabad. Riders can choose from four modes—Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, and Sport—to balance efficiency with performance based on their riding style.
