The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) has announced a new project titled "Application of machine learning for hyperspectral imaging and remote sensing aimed at early detection of fungal foliar disease and bacterial wilt disease in potato crop". This exciting initiative is funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and offers two vacancies: one for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and another for a Scientific Administrative Assistant/Field Worker.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Position

Qualifications: Candidates for the JRF position should hold a Master’s degree in Life Sciences or related fields such as Genetics, Biochemistry, Microbiology. Eligibility for JRF positions under DBT-funded projects typically includes CSIR-UGC NET-JRF, GATE, ICMR-JRF, or DBT-JRF, or equivalent national-level test qualifications.

Remuneration: The JRF position offers a monthly stipend of around ₹31,000, plus 8% House Rent Allowance (HRA), as per similar recent notifications.

Duration: The initial appointment is for 1 year or until the project termination, whichever is earlier, and is extendable based on performance.
