JLR Resumes Operations in Phases After Cyber Incident
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is set to resume operations in phases, starting with the Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC) and Battery Assembly Centre (BAC) in the West Midlands on October 8, 2025. This marks a significant step in the company's recovery from a recent cyber incident.
The restart will see JLR workers return to stamping operations in Castle Bromwich, Halewood, and Solihull, UK, and key areas of the Solihull vehicle production plant. The company has introduced measures to support suppliers, including a dedicated supplier help desk and manual payment systems, since the incident.
To further aid the recovery, JLR has secured a loan backed by the UK Government. This has enabled the creation of a new financing scheme for qualifying suppliers. The scheme provides cash up-front, accelerating payments by up to 120 days. JLR will also reimburse the financing costs for suppliers using the scheme during the restart phase. The banking partner working with JLR to implement this short-term financing plan is HSBC.
Adrian Mardell, Chief Executive Officer of JLR, has stated that this restart marks an important moment for the company and its stakeholders. Following the initial restart, vehicle manufacturing in Nitra, Slovakia, and the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport (MLA) production lines in Solihull will resume later in the week. JLR's recovery from the cyber incident is now well underway.
