iPhone 17 series officially debuts in Taiwan by Apple

In the heart of Taipei's bustling Xinyi District, a digital advertising worker named Hsu made history as he became the first customer to pick up his preordered iPhone 17 Pro Max, marking his third consecutive year queuing for the latest Apple release.

The iPhone 17 series, including the 6.3-inch iPhone 17, 6.5-inch iPhone Air, 6.3-inch iPhone 17 Pro, and 6.9-inch iPhone 17 Pro Max, is now available in Taiwan, following a series of launch events held by major telecoms in Taipei.

Hsu, a 36-year-old digital advertising worker, expressed his excitement about the upgraded front camera that automatically rotates for horizontal selfies and the main camera's eight times optical zoom for taking photographs of distant scenes.

Enthusiasts began queuing days in advance at all three major telecoms, with Taiwan Mobile Co staging a Formula One-themed display at its flagship store in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, and Far EasTone Telecommunications Co offering NT$4,000 discounts on contract prices for the first 50 customers at its Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung stores.

Chunghwa Telecom Co is offering vouchers worth NT$3,600 to 360 customers who registered online. In a move to cater to customers' convenience, the Apple employees at the Apple Store in Taipei's Xinyi District announced the decision to start direct delivery to customers who pre-ordered the new iPhone 17 series on or shortly before September 19, 2025, the official release date announced at the 'Awe Dropping' keynote.

Notably, the starting price for the iPhone 17 series is NT$29,900, and the minimum storage for the new models has been doubled to 256GB compared to last year's models.

As the first customer to receive his preordered iPhone 17 Pro Max in dark blue, Hsu's dedication and enthusiasm for Apple products serve as an inspiration to fellow tech enthusiasts in Taiwan.
