EQL Games, a leading provider of iLottery games, has announced its plans to expand into the European market within the coming year. This move is part of a broader international growth strategy, following a significant investment from Bullpen Capital.

The investment aims to accelerate innovation, grow global reach, and deliver advanced digital lottery games to regulated markets worldwide, including Europe.

Key elements of EQL Games’ expansion strategy relevant to Europe are:

  1. Leveraging modern digital lottery content and infrastructure: EQL Games will bring faster, more engaging, and compliant lottery solutions to European markets, surpassing traditional systems.
  2. Customizing offerings for new regulated markets: Building on existing international partnerships, EQL Games plans to tailor games to local preferences and regulations, ensuring a seamless fit in European jurisdictions.
  3. Diversifying the portfolio: EQL Games will continue to innovate by offering both complex, longer-play games and simpler, quicker games, aiming to broaden appeal and market penetration as consumers become familiar with digital lottery products.

Although specific European countries targeted were not disclosed, EQL Games' active talks with U.S. jurisdictions and current presence in international markets suggest a strategic and staged entry into Europe, driven by regulation, market potential, and demand for digital lottery innovation.

In the United States, EQL Games already has a strong foothold, providing games for the Michigan, Virginia, and Washington D.C. lotteries. The company also boasts a deep understanding of what government partners and players want in the digital lottery market.

The partnership with the Michigan Lottery and the NFL's Detroit Lions to release a new eInstant lottery game called Detroit Lions End Zone Rush marks EQL's second proprietary eInstant lottery game, following the success of the Detroit Tigers Grand Slam game.

Brad Cummings, CEO of EQL Games, expressed his excitement about the investment from Bullpen Capital, stating, "It's a major validation of our mission, and we're excited to have a partner who's been at the vanguard of regulated markets and gaming."

Suzanna Shkreli, Michigan Lottery Commissioner, shared similar sentiments, stating, "This partnership allows us to bring innovative and exciting games to Michigan residents while supporting public education."

Bullpen Capital, which previously invested in FanDuel in 2012 and Jackpocket in 2016, is no stranger to the gaming industry. Their investment in EQL Games is expected to further propel the company's growth and innovation in the digital lottery market.

Despite the historical underserving of innovation in the lottery industry, EQL Games is poised to bring modern infrastructure and content to a massive, regulated market, revolutionizing the way people play lottery games around the world.

  1. EQL Games, with the investment from Bullpen Capital, aims to leverage technology to introduce advanced digital lottery games, such as the Detroit Lions End Zone Rush, to European markets, instead of relying on traditional systems.
  2. As part of its international growth strategy, EQL Games plans to customize its lottery offerings for European sports fans, not only expanding into the European market but also potentially aligning with popular sports teams, as seen in its partnership with the Detroit Lions.
