The automotive world is abuzz with excitement as Dongfeng's Voyah brand prepares to introduce its new full-size NEV (New Energy Vehicle) crossover, the Voyah Taishan. Spy shots of the vehicle, heavily camouflaged, have been circulating in China since July 2025[1][2].

The Voyah Taishan is poised to challenge other China-made SUVs, such as the Li L9, Aito M9, and Denza N9, with its impressive features and advanced technology. This new crossover will boast a body length of approximately 5.2 meters, placing it in direct competition with the Li L9 model[1].

The exterior design of the Voyah Taishan is sleek and modern, with an almost flat front end, high bonnet line, black multi-spoke rims, slanted A-pillars, roof racks, a flat roofline, and power folding side-view mirrors. A distinctive LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof adds to its futuristic appeal[1].

In terms of powertrain options, the Voyah Taishan is expected to offer both Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) variants, similar to other Voyah models like the Dream minivan[1].

One of the most compelling aspects of the Voyah Taishan is its integration of Huawei technology. The vehicle will be equipped with Huawei hardware and operating system, including the ADS 4 driver assistance system. This system boasts advanced capabilities such as cross-level parking valet, automatic ramps navigation, and recognition of uphill, downhill, and curve driving conditions[1].

With a seating capacity of 6, the Voyah Taishan is designed with luxury and technology in mind, and its design has been reportedly reminiscent of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan[3].

While an official release date for the Voyah Taishan has not been announced, given the spy shots and readiness to launch in mid-2025 reported in July 2025, the vehicle is expected to hit the market imminently in China and Europe[1][2].

Voyah, a high-end NEV brand under Dongfeng, launched in 2021, has been actively exploring overseas markets to compensate for slow domestic sales. The brand began international expansion in Norway in June 2022 and has since entered Israel, Finland, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and other South European countries[4].

However, Voyah's export volume isn't high, and the automaker needs to improve its performance in China to stay afloat. The Voyah Taishan's entry into the growing full-size SUV market in China is a strategic move to boost its sales and secure its position in the competitive automotive industry.
