Intilion Delivers Switzerland's Largest Standalone Battery Storage System
A significant milestone has been reached in the Swiss energy sector. Intilion, a leading provider of energy storage solutions, has successfully delivered and will install one of the largest standalone battery storage systems in the country. The project, commissioned by Swiss energy company Primeo Energie, is set to enhance the nation's renewable energy infrastructure.
The battery storage system, with a power of 25 megawatts and a capacity of 65 megawatt-hours, is a testament to Intilion's capabilities. The company coordinated the delivery of all components, navigating international transport logistics efficiently. To avoid cross-border approval procedures for special transports, an inland ship route from Rotterdam to Birsfelden was strategically chosen.
Assembly, wiring, and installation of the delivered components are scheduled to commence in the coming weeks. Once completed, the battery storage system will be gradually put into operation, further bolstering Switzerland's commitment to clean energy.
Intilion's successful delivery and upcoming installation of this substantial battery storage system mark a significant step forward in Switzerland's energy transition. The system, ordered by Primeo Energie in December 2025 and slated for construction in spring 2026, underscores Intilion's role as a key player in the country's renewable energy landscape.
