In a significant move to bolster electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, Eliso, a leading charging infrastructure specialist, has partnered with Segmüller, a renowned furniture retailer. This collaboration marks the beginning of a gradual nationwide rollout of high-power chargers (HPC) at Segmüller's store locations across Germany.

The partnership, announced on July 15, 2025, aims to equip Segmüller sites with HPC chargers, enabling fast EV charging for customers. The initial operational charging location can be found at Segmüller's furniture store in Mannheim, making it the first Baden-Württemberg location to offer this service.

The expansion plan involves a gradual rollout of HPC chargers in key regions such as Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Hesse, where Segmüller has retail locations. The rollout will be progressive, following a staged timeline rather than an immediate mass deployment, ensuring a steady enhancement of charging availability across these regions.

EV drivers can now charge their vehicles at two fast-charging points simultaneously at this Mannheim location, which is easily accessible for commuters, situated between the B38a and A6, directly at the Mannheim interchange in the Neuostheim district. The charging location serves as an important hub for electric vehicle drivers.

The cost for charging at this location is 0.64 euros per kWh, with an additional 10 cents per minute after one hour. It's worth noting that the integrated credit card terminal and the possibility of ad-hoc charging via smartphone at the charging location do not require long-term contract commitment.

This partnership not only strengthens Eliso's location portfolio in the furniture retail sector but also supports Germany's broader goals of expanding electric mobility infrastructure through collaborations between commercial operators and charging specialists.

Previously, Eliso had equipped the branches of Möbel Rieger in Heilbronn and Wohnwelt Rheinfelden with charging infrastructure. With this latest collaboration, Segmüller's branches in the mentioned regions will also receive fast-charging infrastructure as part of the partnership.

The first two fast-charging points, each with 200 kW charging power, have been commissioned at Segmüller's furniture store in Mannheim, marking an important step in the expansion of Eliso's nationwide charging network. This collaboration reflects Eliso's commitment to widespread fast-charging coverage in partnership with Segmüller, enhancing EV charging accessibility across multiple important German states.

  1. The partnership between Eliso and Segmüller also includes integrating advanced technology for fast EV charging at these locations, ensuring a modern and efficient charging experience for customers.
  2. With the ongoing rollout of high-power chargers (HPC) nationwide, Segmüller stores will serve as technology hubs not only for furniture shopping but also as convenient charging destinations for electric vehicle drivers.
