Insights on Extron's Latest DTP3 IN2004 Lineup

The Extron DTP3 IN2004 Series, a new line of scalers, is making waves in the professional AV industry with its combination of high-quality video and audio processing, signal switching, and extension capabilities. These devices are designed to meet the demands of complex AV systems, offering a range of features suitable for various integration needs.

One of the key aspects of the DTP3 IN2004 Series is its HDCP 2.3 compliance, ensuring secure transmission of high-definition content. The series includes features such as logo image keying, auto-switching between inputs, and selectable seamless switching transitions, enhancing the user experience in professional presentation environments.

The scalers offer 4K/60 4:4:4 switching, scaling, and signal extension, setting a new standard for uncompromised image quality and advanced features. They provide selectable scaled output rates ranging from 640x480 to 4K/60 at 4:4:4 color sampling, catering to a wide variety of resolutions.

The DTP3 IN2004 Series also features Extron's Vector 4K scaling technology for advanced video processing, ensuring uncompromising upscaling and downscaling performance. This technology enhances presentations with professional-level video and audio performance.

In terms of audio processing, the series incorporates professional-grade capabilities, including embedded audio handling, audio de-embedding, and output capabilities. This allows flexible routing and control of audio along with video signals in integrated AV environments.

The series' standout capability is the use of Extron's DTP3 technology for signal extension. This allows HDMI video and audio signals to be transmitted over shielded twisted pair cables to distances of up to 330 feet (100 meters) or more, without compromising quality. This makes the IN2004 Series ideal for large-scale AV installations where sources and displays are physically separated.

The series includes three main models: DTP3 IN2004 DI/DO, DTP3 IN2004 DO, and IN2004. The DTP3 IN2004 DI/DO includes HDMI and DTP3 inputs and outputs, while the DTP3 IN2004 DO has HDMI inputs and both HDMI and DTP3 outputs. The basic model, IN2004, features HDMI inputs and outputs.

The DTP3 IN2004 Series also offers selectable FILL and FOLLOW modes to set the desired video aspect ratio. FILL mode provides full-screen output, while FOLLOW mode preserves the original signal's aspect ratio. Furthermore, the scalers deliver the ability to insert a custom graphic image onto the video output, such as a company or school logo.

In summary, the Extron DTP3 IN2004 Series scalers deliver professional video and audio processing with flexible switching, support for 4K/60 HDMI signals consistent with recent HDMI standards, and robust DTP3 signal extension enabling long-distance transmission over twisted pair cabling. These features make them suitable for sophisticated AV system deployments requiring centralised control and high signal integrity.
