Innovative Microphone Mist Technology Secures Three New Patents
Nureva, a leading provider of advanced audio conferencing solutions, has announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the European Patent Office (EPO) have issued three additional patents for its Microphone Mist technology. These patents are the latest additions to Nureva's active and growing intellectual property portfolio.
The patents acknowledge Nureva's groundbreaking approach to intelligent sound targeting, position-based gain control, and echo cancellation. These features are designed to deliver clear and natural speech intelligibility for remote students and meeting participants.
One of the patents, US 11,689,849, discloses the microphone array's ability to preemptively identify and exclude unwanted sound sources like HVAC systems and fans during the targeting process, enhancing the listening experience.
The US 11,635,937 patent reveals the microphone array's use of sound-source position-based gain control processing. This innovative approach optimises the talker's gain while maintaining ambient noise at a quieter and more consistent level.
The EP 3791565 patent discloses the use of residual echo estimate information to derive secondary echo reduction parameters. This enhancement significantly improves the acoustic return echo cancellation performance.
Nancy Knowlton, CEO of Nureva, commented on the new patents, stating, "These new patents validate our original approach to delivering great audio in larger collaboration spaces." She continued, "Our Microphone Mist technology platform continues to create exciting opportunities for us to bring unique and compelling value to our customers."
This processing approach effectively overcomes limitations and distractions caused by common issues with automatic gain control hysteresis and level pumping. As a result, talkers no longer hear their own voice in their headset or speaker after speaking, regardless of the UC&C client being used.
With this expanded intellectual property portfolio, Nureva has significant opportunities to develop new products and enhancements. The company's Microphone Mist technology continues to be a game-changer in the field of audio conferencing, providing a superior user experience for remote collaboration.
