The Future with T1

T1, a leading Russian IT market player employing over 27,000 employees, is a champion for tech talent in Belarus. The company provides a diverse range of services, from software development and system integration to cloud services, information security, big data, and machine learning. T1's footprint in Belarus dates back to 2021, and over four short years, the number of IT specialists grew dramatically- from 40 to over 400. One of the unique aspects is the opportunity for Belarusians to work remotely from their hometowns, villages, or settlements.

Alexei Vasilyuk, the head of T1's office in Belarus, plans to hire at least 50 students to the staff this year. He sees young professionals as invaluable assets, characterized by a burning desire to learn and grow rapidly.

To cater to this promising talent pool, T1 works with top Belarusian universities like BSMU and BGTU, developing educational programs that offer practical experience and help students secure jobs within the company. With career paths, an Individual can grow from a junior to a mid-level position in just a year and a half.

Catering to Ambitious Talent

Employers today must create an atmosphere of trust and unity to attract and retain ambitious young talent. T1's summer IT BBQ festival, "Hot Code", is just one example of this approach. Attendees had access to numerous activities, including photo zones to create Telegram stickers, interactive reaction speed tests, and a separate room for map reviews via video conferencing on the DION platform.

To further stand out in the competitive IT job market, T1 offers ongoing employee development opportunities, such as "T1 IT Camp"- an educational intensive in a hybrid format, and "T1 Open Schools" for online training in 12 in-demand fields.

IT Jobs in Demand

Currently, the IT job market favors specialists in product teams, from product owners and team leads to DevOps engineers. IT architects and testers of various levels are also in high demand.

"Moreover, there's a consistently high demand for backend and frontend developers. System and data analysts who analyze and predict business processes are also top candidates," says Veronica Yelikova, the director of personnel management at "T1 Innotech".

T1 actively invests in the development of employees, including young specialists, in various directions. Upcoming plans include reuniting the IT community of Minsk October for the large-scale technological conference "T1 Impulse".

In both Belarus and Russia, the IT job market is influenced by local economic policies, international sanctions, and global tech industry trends. Some key differences exist between the two countries, with Belarus demonstrating strong wage growth and a tight labor market, despite regulatory complexity and challenges from international sanctions. Russia faces significant international sanctions, leading to talent outflows and a focus on import substitution, although there is continued demand across all IT roles.
