Hospitality Sector Feature: Explore Woodland Village at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort's Premises
In the heart of LEGOLAND Windsor Resort's newly unveiled Woodland Village, lies an entertainment and hospitality space like no other - The Clubhouse Restaurant and Bar. David Shepherd, a renowned audio expert, has confirmed that the system at The Clubhouse creates a perfect background atmosphere and delivers high-quality audio.
The Clubhouse boasts an immersive, zoned EM Acoustics audio system, designed to transport guests into a multi-sensory environment. This system, integrated into the existing Resort-wide Q-SYS ecosystem, reproduces sounds accurately and naturally, creating an unforgettable experience, particularly for younger visitors.
The system is divided into four audio zones for the sound design. Zone 1, comprising the bar and open entertainment area, features a small stage area equipped with a pair of EMS-81Xs and an S-48 subwoofer. Zones 2-4, located throughout the restaurant, are equipped with 48 EMS-41 loudspeakers and three S-48 subwoofers, ensuring an immersive audio experience for all.
For hosting performances, an Allen and Heath mixing console and Sennheiser EWDx head-worn and handheld mics are utilised. Stage foldback for monitoring is through a single EMS-61 loudspeaker. The Q-SYS System was used to install the logic for the audio stems, with 16 channels of audio playback looped in sections throughout the day.
The immersive audio system at The Clubhouse goes beyond simple dining, filling the space with dynamic and engaging elements without relying on screens. It aims to provide good old-fashioned fun through an immersive combination of sound and visual effects, fostering a lively and enjoyable ambiance for families and children visiting the restaurant.
David Shepherd, who led the sound design for the project, collaborated with the internal technical team and integrators, JPSL, to design and install a full EM Acoustics system. Over a dozen audio stems of varying lengths and formats were created by Shepherd to produce the immersive environment, with each stem having its own mapped route of loudspeakers.
Since its recent inauguration, the sound system at The Clubhouse has already received significant attention and positive feedback. The system is capable of delivering audio for nightly entertainment and bigger events, should they be required. The immersive audio system at The Clubhouse Restaurant and Bar in LEGOLAND Windsor Resort's Woodland Village is a testament to the resort's commitment to creating memorable and engaging experiences for its guests.
