DraftKings Remains Unchallenged as the Best OSB App

DraftKings once again takes the top spot in Eilers & Krejcik Gaming's (EKG) online sports betting (OSB) mobile application rankings, making it the second consecutive win for the leading platform. In a tight race against FanDuel, DraftKings managed to widen the gap slightly, remaining the undisputed king in the US sports betting industry.

The EKG survey notes that the DraftKings app features an exceptional user experience, deep markets, and a comprehensive set of features, winning the approval of testers. However, some users have reported occasional glitches in live streaming and limitations in cash-out availability[2].

Caesars Gains Ground in the Competitive Market

Caesars Entertainment's Caesars Sportsbook, despite trailing DraftKings and FanDuel in market share, is making notable progress, particularly in the iGaming sector and technology advancements in sports betting. EKG comments that Caesars Sportsbook has seen improvements in its user interface, covering the holes in its market depth to climb to the fifth spot in their rankings[1].

The enhanced performance of Caesars Digital comes at a time when the business has been increasingly profitable, with talks of a potential spin-off circulating[3]. Analysts, investors, and management believe that the online unit's progress isn't accurately reflected in the company's stock price, creating considerable discussion about separating the division to unlock value for shareholders.

Fanatics Continues to Excel, While BetMGM Needs Work

Fanatics, the newcomer in the US OSB space, retains the third spot in the first half of 2025, having ranked second in the second half of 2024 edition[1]. EKG highlights that Fanatics trails DraftKings and FanDuel by minimal margins, making it a potential contender for the top spot in future rankings[2].

On the other hand, BetMGM faces some challenges as testers have consistently pointed out issues related to speed, such as slow load times and lag[2]. Addressing these problems is crucial for BetMGM to bring its OSB app in line with its genuine potential, according to EKG[2].

Usefulness of Sportsbook Apps for Bettors

As observed in various polls and studies, bettors prioritize ease-of-use and technology when choosing sportsbook apps or deciding whether to stick with a particular product[4]. Scoring highly in EKG's survey offers an advantage for operators seeking to attract and retain users.
