Guide on Acquiring Iron in Fantasy Life – The Time Thief's Handbook
Getting Your Hands on Iron Ingots in Fantasy Life i: The Time Thief
Welcome, adventurer! If you're hoping to upgrade your gear in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, you'll need to learn the ropes of mining iron. Now, don't get your hopes up – you can't just walking into a mine and digging up iron ingots like it's child's play. You'll need to smelt ore to make them, and for that, you’ll need access to both Miner and Blacksmith Life. So buckle up and get ready to graduate in both before we dive into the world of iron farming.
Once you've got your pass to the Blacksmith guild, it's time to head out and find the ores you need. The key to getting iron ingots lies within Faraway iron ore. You'll be able to spot this material in two main locations:
Digging Up Iron Ore
- Visit the Past or Faraway Island: To unearth Faraway iron ore, you'll need to traverse either the past or Faraway Island. Specifically, you should head to the Lulab Forest and look for the section where a well is hidden beneath vines – but be warned, you won't be able to access this area until you've finished Chapter 4.
- Explore Ginormosia: There are two more locations in Ginormosia where iron ore hides: Wingtip Valley and Pettletip Woods. These spots are both located northeast of the map, and beware – some of the creatures lurking in these areas can be pretty nasty, so make sure you're stocked up on healing items before you venture out.
When you've amassed enough iron ore, head back to the Blacksmith Guild and use their tools to smelt the ore. Keep in mind that two ore are required to create one iron ingot.
If mining isn't your cup of tea, you can always buy the iron ore you need to create ingots. Just head to either the material shop on Faraway Island or in your base camp and pick up some Faraway ore for 80 Dosh.
