Guide for Fixing Pinned Posts on Instagram (Provided with Illustrations)

Instagram has rolled out an exciting new feature for its users - Grid Pinning. This announcement was made by the Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri.

With this new feature, users can now pin up to three posts at the top of their profile, providing a unique opportunity to showcase their favourite content and create a tailored profile experience for their viewers.

To pin a post, users simply need to choose the post they want to feature, tap on the three-dot icon, and select "Pin to your profile." The order in which posts are pinned will determine their appearance on the profile, with the first pin appearing at the far left and the third pin at the far right.

Pinned posts will show up on the profile right below the Instagram bio and Story Highlights. It's important to note that posts that are not eligible for pinning include Stories, Profile highlights, and Live videos. Users also cannot pin photos or videos posted by other users.

For those seeking inspiration on what posts to pin, consider showcasing your personality, setting a tone, featuring friends and family, and highlighting announcements. The order of pinned posts is determined by the order in which they were pinned, not chronologically. This means users can organize and play with their top 3 pinned posts to create the desired impression for their profile visitors.

Unpinning a post will move it back to its original chronological position in the main grid. This feature can be particularly useful for content creators, brands, and users who want to keep their profile fresh and up-to-date while still showcasing their favourite content.

Instagram selected tech influencer Matt Navarra, social media expert Ashley Carman, and content creator Jane Manchun Wong as test users for the new Grid Pinning feature. The feature is not limited to personal photos but can also include Reels, albums, and collaborations. If a multi-photo album is pinned, the first photo will still show up first in the grid.
