Glock 44: Affordable .22 LR Training & Fun Shooting
Glock has expanded its range with the Glock 44, a .22 LR handgun introduced in early 2020. This new model offers an affordable training option for Glock 19 users and provides a fun shooting experience.
The Glock 44 shares the same controls, sights, and trigger as its centerfire counterparts, ensuring a familiar feel for Glock users. However, it does not come with a threaded barrel for suppressor attachment.
Weighing in at 14.6 ounces, the Glock 44 is significantly lighter than the Glock 19's 23.6 ounces. This lighter weight, combined with its 4-inch barrel, makes it highly accurate, though not as precise as some dedicated target guns. It requires high-velocity or 40-grain .22 LR ammo for reliable functioning.
The Glock 44's rear sight prints 3 inches higher than point-of-aim at 15 yards when the sight is set as low as possible. Its magazines feature finger-friendly tabs for easy loading and a viewing slot to check remaining rounds. The slide is made of polymer reinforced with steel in critical friction areas.
The Glock 44 serves as an excellent training tool for Glock 19 users and offers an enjoyable shooting experience. Its lighter weight and familiar controls make it a practical choice, despite its slightly higher point-of-aim. With proper ammunition, it delivers reliable performance and good accuracy.
