Geneva Watch Fair 2025 Preview: Latest Innovations from Richemont to Grace the Exhibition Floor

Watches and Wonders 2025 in Geneva saw a dazzling display of new timepieces from Richemont's esteemed brands. The event, held from April 1-7, showcased a collection of watches that perfectly balanced technical innovation, heritage styles, and complex horology.

Piaget's new models seamlessly blended the maison's rich heritage with the present, featuring a distinctive trapezoidal shape that embodied geometry and delicacy, refinement and allure. A. Lange & Soehne's new watches focused on harmonizing technology and aesthetics, with a priority on optimal readability.

IWC's new Ingenieur, crafted from tough zirconium oxide ceramic, demonstrated a material choice that allowed no compromise. The Luminor Marina from Panerai set a new benchmark with enhanced water resistance up to 500m in Panerai's core collection. The Luminor name originates from a luminous compound created by Panerai, which shaped the creation of the first models in the series in the early 1960s.

Vacheron Constantin's Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar featured a beautifully rendered and technically impressive moon phase with a starry sky in '950 platinum, two three-dimensional moons, and a tachymeter scale painted on the dial. The Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen Mount Vinson Limited Edition represented both the northern and southern hemispheres with two three-dimensional globes that turned anti-clockwise, and marked the seven peaks of Messner's challenge, as well as the Mont Blanc summit.

Rolex, while not a Richemont brand, showcased the Land-Dweller, a technically advanced sport watch featuring the new silicon Dynapulse escapement in its caliber 7135. This watch revived an integrated bracelet style reminiscent of the Oysterquartz and balanced technical innovation with a unique design.

Patek Philippe unveiled the Quadruple Complication 5308G-001, a highly complex watch combining four complications, including a minute repeater and an instantaneous perpetual calendar, showcasing the brand’s technical excellence for 2025.

Cartier launched new jewelry and bracelet collections, signifying a focus on design protected aggressively against superfakes. Additional Richemont brands like Jaeger-LeCoultre, Panerai, and Piaget unveiled new models such as the Polaris Chronograph (Jaeger-LeCoultre), Submersible Marina Militare PAM01697 (Panerai), and Piaget Sixtie—a collection merging 1960s style with modern elegance.

Parmigiani Fleurier introduced the Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante Verza, and IWC presented an Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar variant, showcasing Richemont’s strong specialist watchmaker unit continuing innovation and complexity.

Baume & Mercier's new Riviera Chronograph, the M0A10827, was inspired by the French Riviera and featured a 1950s-style, black-and-white dial. A. Lange & Soehne's website is alange-soehne.com, and IWC's website is iwc.com. Baume & Mercier's website is baume-et-mercier.com.

Highlights of the event revolved around technically advanced movements, revival of classic designs with modern twists, and a continued effort to protect the integrity of their iconic designs amid increasing counterfeit threats.
