Fundraising of $15 million at a valuation of $100 million by SuperGaming to drive international growth

SuperGaming, a Pune-based gaming startup, has secured a $15 million funding round, marking a significant leap in its mission to empower game developers and publishers in under-resourced regions. The enterprise valuation of SuperGaming has surged nearly five times since 2021, reaching an approximate value of $100 million.

The funding round, led by Skycatcher and Steadview Capital, also saw participation from marquee global investors such as a16z Speedrun, Bandai Namco's O21 Fund, Neowiz, Polygon Ventures, Sandeep Nailwal, Decentralised.co, and 4th Revolution Capital. Existing investors SkyCatcher, AET Japan, and BACE Capital also doubled down on their bets in this round.

SuperGaming's expansion strategy in emerging markets revolves around deploying hyper-local gaming content tailored to under-represented cultures, particularly in regions like Latin America and the Middle East. They aim to consolidate their presence by offering proprietary backend infrastructure and publishing tools to enable local game developers and publishers who lack advanced resources.

This strategy is supported by strategic partnerships, such as their collaboration with Brazilian esports organization LOUD.GG for a Latin American launch. SuperGaming is also planning similar efforts for the Middle East and other culturally under-represented regions.

Key elements of their strategy include hyper-local game development reflecting cultural nuances of target regions, global expansion beyond core Asian markets, utilising SuperPlatform technology built with Google Cloud, integrating Web3 elements, and targeting emerging markets where gaming monetization can be 3-5 times higher than in India, such as Brazil and some European regions.

John, possibly a representative of SuperGaming, estimates a $5-7 million revenue potential from Indus alone in emerging markets. The company plans to use the fresh funds to scale its international footprint, particularly in emerging markets, and accelerate product development and market entry.

Sia Kamalie, Founder & Fund Manager at Skycatcher, stated that the firm is "leaning into their original thesis" by following up on their Series A investment made in 2021. The partnership with LOUD.GG is part of SuperGaming's go-global play, as they set to launch in regions where they see better monetisation potential.

SuperGaming's expansion in emerging markets leverages localized content creation and advanced backend support combined with strategic partnerships and emerging Web3 technologies to capture culturally diverse audiences and maximize monetization potential.
