Feline Lead of A Quiet Place's Premiere Eyed for Solo Film Venture
Title: The Unexpected Star of A Quiet Place: Day One and the Whispers of a Sequel
A Quiet Place: Day One might not be quiet about its furry star, Frodo the cat, for much longer. While the movie's box-office success has already been deafening, a faint murmur suggests that our feline friend might have a significant role in future installments of the Quiet Place franchise. The movie's director, Michael Sarnoski, hinted at Frodo's potential continuation, making cat enthusiasts everywhere purr with anticipation.
If you haven't caught a screening yet, make a beeline for your nearest theater and return to learn about Frodo's possible return.
Sarnoski revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that the prequel's narrative relied heavily on the dynamic between Frodo and Lupita Nyong'o's character, Sam. This bond with Frodo could potentially pave the way for an Eric (Joseph Quinn) sequel. In Sarnoski's words, "Through Frodo and Sam, Eric finds solace in a fireplace in the tempest that becomes his guiding light." Mercifully, Frodo's life was never at risk in the film's script. "It's only natural that the cat passes from hand to hand and moves on," Sarnoski elucidated. "Unless the animal's demise is essential for a meaningful reason, it's only cruel to subject the audience to it. Frodo means something to these characters, and it would have been cruel to eliminate him."
So, how will our furry friend factor into a potential sequel? Sarnoski's hints steer us towards the island from A Quiet Place: Part Two. He teased, "A significant portion of those individuals would likely have ended up on the island in Part Two. There's a good chance that they're there, and we might bump into them again." Although no official plans have been announced, Sarnoski hinted that Frodo's return isn't entirely out of the question.
As for the future of the Quiet Place franchise, Paramount could be keen to traverse that path once more, according to Sarnoski. "I don't think there are any specific plans, but I wouldn't be shocked if they revisit this story. It's an open-ended sequel tease," he grinned.
