record-breaking sales for the Fold 7 and Flip 7 Samsung devices, leaving the tech giant caught off guard

Exploding sales for the $2000 Fold 7 and $1100 Flip 7 smartphones have left Samsung astounded. These devices continue to fly off the shelves.

In a significant shift for Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has outpaced its sibling, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, in pre-orders globally. This surge in demand can be attributed to the Fold 7's notable enhancements, such as a sleeker, thinner design, a larger foldable inner display, and a high-end 200MP camera.

According to reports, the Blue Shadow color variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 accounts for 40-50% of orders in the United States, marking a 25% year-on-year increase in overall pre-orders for both devices.

In South Korea, Samsung recorded an impressive 1.04 million pre-orders for the two devices during their launch week, a significant jump from the 910,000 pre-orders last year. Interestingly, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 outsold the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in South Korea, capturing about 60% of pre-orders.

Young men make up 83% of Galaxy Z Fold 7 buyers in South Korea, while the Galaxy Z Flip 7 continues to attract more women, with 59% of its buyers being female.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7, priced at $2,000, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7, costing $1,100, have seen increased demand in key markets like Europe, where pre-orders for the Fold 7 are up by over 50% compared to its predecessor.

In the United States, pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 surpassed the combined total of all previous Fold generations. Carrier pre-orders were up 60% compared to last year, fueled by promotions and trade-in offers.

Samsung is responding to this increased demand by increasing production plans for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, aiming to produce 2.4 million units, up from last year's 2.2 million.

In India, Samsung pre-ordered 210,000 units of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 in 48 hours, depleting stock.

With these strong pre-order numbers, Samsung is on track to generate billions in revenue from foldables alone this year. The Galaxy Z Fold 7's success can be attributed to its appeal to professionals and tech enthusiasts seeking a premium productivity device that combines phone and tablet features, as well as its high-end camera capabilities.
