European Commission Introduces New Project to Boost Internet Utilization for Homegrown Information Infrastructure Development
The RKW Competence Center, funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi), is hosting a conference aimed at Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) on November 13, 2025, at the Bremen Chamber of Commerce. This event, titled "Sustainably Successful: SMEs with a Future," is a golden opportunity for entrepreneurs and managers to learn how to combine ecological responsibility, economic success, and innovative strength in their own companies.
The central theme of the conference is how SMEs can make sustainability a success factor. Medium-sized companies can achieve this by strategically integrating sustainability into their core business practices. This includes setting measurable and ambitious goals, operationalizing sustainability across the organization, engaging stakeholders systematically, utilizing sustainability reporting frameworks, investing in renewable energy and responsible supply chains, and fostering a culture of resilience and continuous improvement.
For instance, defining medium-term sustainability goals in priority areas such as climate, nature, and social equity can help embed sustainability into growth strategies and operations. Collaborating with customers, investors, NGOs, and governments helps build trust, strengthen partnerships, and drive systemic changes that benefit both business and society. Adopting the EU’s new voluntary sustainability reporting standard (VSME) can simplify reporting and enhance credibility, thereby improving resilience and competitiveness.
The conference promises a day filled with practice-based inspiration and opportunities for idea exchange. Keynote speeches, best practices, workshops, and discussion rounds are part of the conference program. Participants can also learn from case studies and interact with experts from various industries.
Notable participants include NOVO-TECH Trading GmbH & Co. KG from Aschersleben, with Susann Krohn as Head of Management Systems, and b.r.m. IT & Aerospace GmbH in Bremen, with Harald Rossol as Managing Partner and Green IT expert.
Admission to the conference is free, and further information, including registration, can be found at www.rkw.link/zuko25. For more details about the RKW Competence Center, please visit www.rkw-kompetenzzentrum.de. A printable press photo and a QR code for the event are available for download.
