Enhancements in Sound Quality at Gladstone Theatre via CODA Audio G-Series Equipment
Hangin' out at the historic Gladstone Theatre in quaint Port Sunlight, Wirral, this bad boy started off as a chill spot for entertainment back in 1891. Prime Minister William Gladstone himself uncorked the inaugural bottle of champers for this half-timbered, red-brick marvel. After decades of modifications, it morphed into a theater in the swingin' 50s.
Nowadays, this 400-seater joint caters to a spectrum of shows from comedy and theater to panto and dance. To take the audience experience to the next level, they recently brought in a slick new CODA Audio system, equipped to dish out audio perfection for every production.
Tech whizzes Adlib stepped in to design and install this ripper system, leaving the theater team jaw-dropped after a mind-blowing spin with a temporary CODA Audio hire system during an important production. That get-together with CODA Audio inspired Adlib's George Puttock to shape the final system with the CODA's G-Series.
The place's acoustic response is ace, as certified by Puttock, thanks to original design elements and delish, cushy seats. The primary challenge faced was keeping structure weights low and maximizing use of limited space. CODA's G-Series, with their three-way, high-output full range loudspeakers, were just the ticket. Two svelte and versatile G712-Pro did duty as main speakers and delays, while a duo of compact G-18 subs hid out behind the stage, flanked by a pair flush-fitted in the front.
The audio extravaganza was wrapped up with two CODA Audio HOPS5 lip fills and powered by two CODA Audio LINUS12C 4-channel DSP amps.

The Gladstone is stoked with their new system, which tackles their diverse programming with ease, blasting out crisp, powerful sound to every seat in the house. Project completed on time and within budget, this masterpiece means the Gladstone Theater will continue to rock as a pivotal performing arts hub for Wirral-land.
According to general theater manager Jamie Brown, the engineers and the Adlib team were top-notch from start to finish. "They walked us through the process, nailed our requirements, and went above and beyond. Can't thank them enough," said a grateful Brown.
