In the picturesque region of Altenburger Land, Germany, Deutsche Telekom is actively working on expanding and upgrading its mobile network. Despite a lack of specific information on the current status or future plans for this expansion in the region, the telecommunications giant is pushing ahead to meet the growing demand for bandwidth.

As of now, Deutsche Telekom operates 38 mobile sites in Altenburger Land, with plans to add three more in the next three years. These new sites will include one with LTE technology, contributing to the already impressive 96% coverage area for mobile internet in the region.

The expansion has significantly improved coverage along the Saxon-West railway line, ensuring that travellers and residents alike can stay connected. The mobile sites in the district also support emergency call technology Advanced Mobile Location (AML) and the warning system Cell Broadcast, ensuring that emergency services can quickly locate callers and send critical alerts to mobile phones in the event of emergencies.

Landlords in Altenburger Land have the opportunity to lease areas for new mobile sites to Deutsche Telekom and receive a long-term, location-based rent. Interested landlords can offer a site for a rooftop or mast site by contacting Deutsche Funkturm at www.dfmg.de/standortangebot.

Deutsche Telekom AG has already expanded mobile network coverage in Altenburger Land, and their efforts have not gone unnoticed. Specialist magazines such as Chip, connect, ComputerBild, and Imtest have consistently ranked Deutsche Telekom as having the best mobile network in Germany. The supply of households with fast mobile connectivity in Altenburger Land is nearly 100%, making it one of the best-connected regions in the country.

Georg von Wagner, a spokesperson for Deutsche Telekom, stated that the demand for bandwidth is increasing by around 30% per year. To meet this demand, nine mobile sites in the district are planned for expansion with LTE or 5G technology.

In case of emergencies, emergency calls to 112 are possible at all the newly covered sites in Altenburger Land. Cell Broadcast, a system that sends danger messages to mobile phones in the affected radio cell, is also operational. This system can be used to alert residents in case of major fires, gas explosions, or floods.
