Electric Vehicles Delivered: Eicher Trucks & Buses Hand Over Electric Buses to Kempegowda International Airport in India
In a significant step towards greener and sustainable ground operations, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has delivered six electric Eicher Skyline Pro-E 12m tarmac buses to IndiGo at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru.
These electric buses, a part of Eicher Trucks and Buses' first foray into ground support equipment within the aviation sector, are optimized for airport operations and demanding applications. They are backed by connected 24X7 service, ensuring smooth and reliable transportation for the millions of passengers that use the airport each year.
The delivery ceremony was held at Kempegowda International Airport, a location renowned for its striking aesthetics and sustainable practices. The electric tarmac buses have been equipped with a CCS2 fast charging system, ensuring quick and efficient recharging between trips.
Each Skyline Pro-E 12m electric tarmac bus has a seating configuration of 17+D and can accommodate 52 standees, providing ample space for passengers while maintaining an eco-friendly footprint. These buses will be used by IndiGo to transport customers between the terminal and aircraft parked at stands.
