Electric Musso EV priced at €41,990 in Germany
Korean automaker KGM (formerly SsangYong) has made a significant move in the German market by launching its first electric vehicle, the Musso EV. The double cab electric pickup truck is set to debut in stores this fall, with sales starting in the summer of 2024, thanks to Autohero's distribution efforts.
Priced at €41,990, the Musso EV offers a range of innovative features that make it a compelling choice for those seeking a versatile and eco-friendly vehicle. One of the standout features is the keyless entry system, ensuring a hassle-free entry and exit experience.
Under the hood, the Musso EV is powered by a 152 kW/207 PS electric motor, producing 339 Nm of torque. This powertrain is supported by an 80.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP), which enables a WLTP-estimated range of up to 419 kilometers. The battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 36 minutes at 120 kW fast-charging stations.
The Musso EV is designed for up to five occupants and boasts a cargo bed length of nearly 1.35 meters, with a payload capacity of up to 500 kg. To assist with parking and maneuvering, the vehicle comes equipped with a rearview camera and front and rear parking assistance.
Inside, the Musso EV offers a modern and tech-savvy cabin with two 12.3-inch displays for the instrument panel and infotainment system. The vehicle also includes a two-zone automatic climate control system, ensuring comfort for both driver and passengers. The standard features also include adjustable, foldable, and heated exterior mirrors.
Hybrid vehicles are planned as part of KGM's electrification strategy, with the Musso EV being the next step in this journey. Following the success of the Torres EVX, the Musso EV marks the second electric car being offered in Germany by KGM.
Since taking over the import and distribution business at the beginning of the year, KGM has been expanding its product and powertrain portfolio, and the Musso EV is a testament to this commitment. The Musso EV is available with an optional all-wheel drive version, which includes a second electric motor on the rear axle, providing enhanced traction and control.
As Germany continues to embrace electric vehicles, the Musso EV offers a practical and stylish solution for those in need of a versatile pickup truck. With its keyless entry system, advanced technology, and impressive range, the Musso EV is poised to make a significant impact in the German market.
