Electric Commercial Vehicles Unveiled by Renault Trucks in 2025: SideLiner Electric Trucks for Beverage Distribution Logistics

In a collaborative effort, Renault Trucks Switzerland and the Feldschloßchen Brewery have recently taken delivery of an electric SideLiner vehicle, designed and developed by Renault Trucks and Orten Fahrzeugbau. This innovative vehicle will be used for regional distribution within the company's sales area.

The electric SideLiner, a side-loading truck primarily designed for regional and urban distribution, is set to revolutionise logistics sectors, particularly beverage distribution. Its electric powertrain enables zero local tailpipe emissions, making it an environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional diesel trucks.

The vehicle's side-loading capabilities and quick unloading system, provided by the SafeServer body developed by Orten Fahrzeugbau, speed up unloading at multiple stops, making it ideal for beverage logistics applications. The electric drive system also reduces carbon emissions to zero at the point of use, contributing to sustainable city logistics.

The all-electric, three-axle Renault Trucks E-Tech equipped with a specially developed body by Orten Fahrzeugbau will be on display at the Nufam trade fair in Karlsruhe from September 25 to 28, 2025. The fair, with a focus on digitization and training, offers an excellent platform to showcase this groundbreaking vehicle.

Maximilian von Loebbecke, the new Managing Director of Renault Trucks Germany, recently visited Orten Fahrzeugbau in Bernkastel-Kues. During this visit, he oversaw the delivery of 31 Renault Trucks to the Feldschloßchen Brewery in Rheinfelden, Switzerland, marking the completion of the project. The parties involved reaffirmed their continued collaboration during the handover.

The electrically operated combination of chassis and body is designed for beverage logistics and is intended to operate there emission-free and quietly. For detailed, up-to-date figures on regional usage patterns, specific beverage logistics operators, or quantified emissions savings, one would need to consult the latest manufacturer releases or case studies directly from Renault Trucks and Orten Fahrzeugbau.

This collaboration between Renault Trucks and Orten Fahrzeugbau is a significant step towards more sustainable urban logistics, offering a practical solution for reducing carbon emissions and noise pollution in densely populated areas.

The collaboration between Renault Trucks and Orten Fahrzeugbau, as exemplified by the electric SideLiner vehicle, is set to redefine beverage distribution in sports events that require efficient, low-emission logistics solutions. This vehicle's electric powertrain also makes it a suitable choice for technology companies aiming to minimize their carbon footprint in urban areas, contributing to sustainable city logistics.
