Electric BMW Blaze at Munich Trade Fair's Riem Garage Causes Six-Figure Damage
A car fire at Munich Trade Fair's Riem parking garage on Monday, September 29, left no injuries but caused significant damage. An electric BMW caught fire, with smoke first spotted before the flames engulfed the vehicle.
A 33-year-old man from Freising district parked his electric BMW in the garage. He noticed smoke from the engine and alerted the fire department. Several teams, equipped with breathing apparatus, rushed to the scene on Paul-Henri-Spaak-Straße. They used a C-jet nozzle to extinguish the fire, which was brought under control swiftly. The affected floor was then ventilated. Unfortunately, three other parked vehicles were also damaged, with total damages estimated in the six-figure range. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the police.
