Drone Crash Lands on Roof During Medical Transport Test in Germany
A drone owned by Swiss company Jedsy crashed onto the roof of rental garages in Saxony's Wilsdruffer district of Kesselsdorf. The incident occurred during a test flight simulating medical cargo transport by the drone, but fortunately, no one was injured.
The drone, operated by Jedsy in collaboration with Dresden-based German Copters, was not carrying any hazardous goods or medical samples at the time of the crash. Following the impact, the drone's batteries briefly caught fire. An investigation is currently underway to establish the cause of the accident.
In Saxony, unmanned drones are set to fly between Dresden and Dippoldiswalde, transporting medical cargo such as blood samples to hospitals and laboratories. This innovative service aims to improve the efficiency and speed of medical deliveries.
While the drone crash is being investigated, it is reassuring that no injuries were reported. Jedsy and German Copters continue to explore the potential of drone technology in medical transport, with plans to expand this service in Saxony.
