District 4 of Bucharest to install 50 high-capacity charging stations for electric vehicles
Bucharest, Romania - July 2, 2025: District 4 is set to become a hub for electric vehicle (EV) charging, as announced by the district mayor, Daniel Băluță. The district will install 50 new high-power charging stations for EVs, significantly expanding the existing charging infrastructure.
The first 20 of these new charging stations will be strategically placed on key streets such as Calea Văcărești, Alexandru Obregia Boulevard, and Șoseaua Berceni near the Tudor Arghezi Park & Ride, as well as in various residential areas across District 4. This initiative is part of the district's commitment to supporting the growing adoption of EVs and promoting environmentally friendly urban development.
Each charging station will feature two charging points, enabling up to 100 vehicles to be charged simultaneously. The remaining 30 stations will be installed in other locations within the district, ensuring widespread access for EV owners.
Mayor Băluță emphasised the importance of the new infrastructure, stating that the charging stations will be simple, fast, and eco-friendly. He also highlighted that the initiative aims to support the growing adoption of electric mobility in the capital.
The new charging stations will not only benefit EV owners but also contribute to the city's green agenda. By promoting the use of EVs, Bucharest can reduce its carbon footprint and contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment.
The installation of these charging stations is a significant step towards making Bucharest a more EV-friendly city. With the new infrastructure, District 4 is set to become a model for sustainable urban development in Romania.
