Discussion: Q&A Session with Vibe City: Unveiling the Record Label with Liquid Intent's Vision

In the thriving world of drum and bass music, a new label has emerged, ready to make waves in the scene. Vibe City, a brainchild born from the Liquid DNB compilations on Dirtbox Recordings, is set to make its mark.

The founder of Vibe City has been instrumental in fostering a community of liquid artists, building relationships, and helping them enhance their online presence. The label serves as an outlet for these artists to produce liquid drum and bass and gain exposure.

The label's first release, scheduled for April 18th, features tracks by Beskar and Just Breathe, with vocals from Charlie Wren. The single has generated a buzz, with its GTA-style artwork and a Guess Who theme catching the attention of many.

The founder, inspired by the collaboration's potential, saw this as the perfect opportunity to debut Vibe City. The planned first release was originally intended to be the second, but another artist had to take a break from music, leaving the EP unfinished.

Two more EPs from other artists are lined up, waiting on final tracks. The second release, scheduled for July, will feature Canis X Sirius.

Vibe City aims for releases every 2-3 months during the first year. However, the label does not plan to release music frequently. Instead, each release will have a distinct identity and creative concept behind it.

In addition to music releases, Vibe City aspires to develop into a touring brand, helping artists land gigs and build their presence. The founder's passion for the genre runs deep, with "Durge" by Spor, Ewun, Evol Intent & Apex being the one drum and bass track he would take to a desert island.

The decision to create a dedicated space for Liquid, separate from the multi-genre scope of Dirtbox, was driven by the belief that Dirtbox was sometimes mistakenly labelled as a neurofunk or jump-up label. With Vibe City, the founder aims to ensure that the Liquid DNB releases reach their full potential.

As Vibe City makes its debut, it remains to be seen how it will shape the drum and bass landscape. However, with its focus on quality over quantity and a commitment to nurturing talent, it's clear that Vibe City is here to make a lasting impact.
