Developer Expanding for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's Sequel, Anticipation Mounts for New Project

Warhorse Studios Returns with a Bang!

It's time to pack your swords and armor, folks! Warhorse Studios, the kickass Czech Republic game dev team behind the smash hit Kingdom Come: Deliverance and the recent blockbuster Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, is expanding its realm. Yup, you heard it right! They're opening a brand new office this July, and we couldn't be more hyped!

The announcement dropped early Wednesday morning via Warhorse's social media post. "We're growing! Warhorse Studios is opening a new office in Brno (CZ) on July 1," it read. "This expansion bolsters our development capacity and supports both KCD2 and future DLCs - while laying the groundwork for what the future holds for us and for you."

More details then rolled in, thanks to GamesIndustry.biz. The Brno office will be led by Petr Kolář, former managing director at Ashborne Games, the geniuses behind the acclaimed 2023 RTS, Last Train Home. Oh, and guess what? Warhorse Studios has already worked with Ashborne on KCD2's Brushes With Death DLC, which was released in May!

Warhorse Studios' communications director, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, revealed that this new team was brought on to broaden the studio's development capabilities. The ultimate goal? To work on multiple projects simultaneously. But for now, the fresh Brno team will focus on KCD2's next two expansions.

"The Brno office allows Warhorse to scale development capacity and eventually manage multiple projects in parallel," Tobias said. "It's not just about faster production, it's about enabling larger and more complex games while maintaining quality."

Brno, as you might know, is a bustling hub of game development with studios like Bohemia Interactive (Arma), GIANTS Software (Farming Simulator), and Hangar 13 (Mafia) setting up shop there. And guess what? Warhorse Studios clearly wasn't oblivious to this!

"Brno has a strong game development tradition and a deep talent pool," Tobias commented. "The city offers access to technical universities and experienced professionals across multiple disciplines, making it a strategic choice for long-term growth."

Kolář, who's joining Warhorse, couldn't be more thrilled about the prospect of shaping this exciting new chapter from Brno. "I am incredibly proud of what our team at Ashborne has achieved and excited to bring that spirit into Warhorse Studios," he stated. "After working closely together, I'm really looking forward to officially joining the team."

As for what Warhorse Studios has planned next, we know about the two DLCs for KCD2 - Legacy of the Forge in the fall, and Mysteria Ecclesia in the winter. But beyond that? Well, the studio has been coy about any new announcements.

Rumors, however, are buzzing around that Warhorse might be working on another RPG game in parallel with KCD2. Could a third instalment of the series be on the horizon? Only time will tell, but one thing's for sure - we'll be there, swords in hand, ready to conquer the new battles Warhorse throws our way!
