Despite DJI Osmo 360 not being officially available for purchase in the United States, here's a guide on how to obtain one.
The DJI Osmo 360 Action Camera, a highly anticipated release in the world of camera drones, is facing difficulties in entering the U.S. market. The primary obstacles are not technical or consumer demand issues, but rather government import restrictions and trade tariffs.
Starting in 2026, new DJI products may be banned unless the U.S. government reviews and clears the company. This decision comes in response to concerns over forced labor and trade policies, with Customs and Border Protection detaining shipments citing the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA). Under this act, goods from China’s Xinjiang region are assumed to be linked to forced labor unless proven otherwise. However, DJI disputes these allegations, claiming that their products are not made with forced labour.
The uncertainty surrounding these allegations has delayed the official sales and pricing of the DJI Osmo 360 in the U.S., despite its global launch on July 31, 2025. The increased tariffs on Chinese imports, imposed since the Trump administration, have also made DJI products more expensive to bring into the U.S. market.
Despite these challenges, some U.S. retailers have listed the Osmo 360, and potential buyers near the Canadian border may cross over to purchase it where it is officially available. It's worth noting that the claim has also affected DJI's Air 3S and the entire product range, with the Mavic 4 Pro never officially launching in the USA due to these restrictions.
