In a significant development for the Indian e-metering market, NeoCortec A/S and Semtech Corporation have joined forces to extend the applicability of their technology. This collaboration aims to address key market needs for Internet of Things (IoT) deployments requiring both local mesh networking and long-range connectivity.

The demonstration of this partnership will take place at Electronica India 2025 in Bengaluru, India from September 17 to 19. Visitors can find the demonstration at Semtech's Booth #H3.C05.

During the demonstration, multiple NeoMesh modules will be operating in a mesh network configuration, showcasing how the combination of NeoMesh's scalable mesh architecture and LoRa's long-range capabilities addresses critical IoT deployment challenges.

Carlo Tinella, Director of Marketing and Product Management for Wireless BU at Semtech, stated that the collaboration addresses the needs of utilities for smart metering deployments. He further explained that the collaboration may also have implications for other IoT applications requiring reliable, scalable connectivity.

Thomas Steen Halkier, the CEO of NeoCortec, will be participating in the demonstration. He highlighted that the technology's ability to provide reliable, low-power connectivity is a key advantage, especially for smart metering, agriculture, and other IoT applications.

Mr. Halkier also explained that the demonstration showcases how combining NeoMesh's mesh networking capabilities with LoRa modulation creates new possibilities for wireless IoT networks. He added that the integrated solution simplifies network deployment while delivering the scalability and reliability needed for large-scale IoT implementations.

LoRa modulation, known for its proven performance in challenging RF environments, is a crucial component of this collaboration. NeoMesh's protocol stack allows devices to communicate locally and extend network reach through mesh topology, making it an ideal choice for large-scale smart metering deployments.

This NeoCortec-Semtech collaboration is expected to unlock opportunities in the smart metering market, as well as in other sectors such as agriculture. The integrated approach is anticipated to bring significant benefits, including scalability, cost-effectiveness, and reliable, low-power connectivity.
