Gear Up: China's Zhejiang Laibao Display Tech Pushes Forward with E-Paper Manufacturing Adventure

The bustling business scene in China just got a boost from Zhejiang Laibao Display Technology Company, which has set its sights on establishing a cutting-edge e-paper display production hub, E-Ink Info suggests. This innovative venture is set to take root in the heart of Huzhou City, Zhejiang province. With a capacity to crank out a whopping 180,000 sqm of glass substrate each month, this manufacturing beast means business.

This tech titan aspires to cater to a broad market spectrum by designing e-paper displays that span from a modest 7.8 inches to a massive 55 inches. With an all-encompassing production line, the company aims to go beyond the manufacture of e-paper displays. The lineup also includes the production of backplane and frontplane, reflective color films, encapsulation of components, module assembly, and the integration of touch panels.

The company's display wonders, based on micro electric-chamber display (MED) technology, employ plasmonic principles, utilizing micro-chambers to reflect ambient light, making them the coveted 'plasma displays.' These fashionable, high-contrast, high-resolution displays with minimal bezels grace various devices, such as e-readers, E Ink tablets, public signage, advertisements, and more. The construction of this high-investment ($1.24 billion USD) manufacturing center is slated to commence soon.
