Compact Camera Unveiled by Insta360 for Release on Thursday - Firm Speculation on its Identity!
In an exciting development, Insta360 has unveiled its latest offering - the Insta360 GO Ultra. This super-compact successor to the Go 3S boasts significant upgrades, positioning it as a formidable competitor in the world of action cameras.
With a sensor size comparable to premium smartphone cameras, the GO Ultra's 1/1.28" sensor promises better light sensitivity and detail, resulting in markedly improved image quality, especially in low light. The camera can now capture 4K video at 60 frames per second, a significant leap from the previous 30 fps, and offers Full HD slow motion at 240 fps.
The GO Ultra also delivers on enhanced photo capability, with 50-megapixel photos in a 4:3 format, a substantial increase from the 12 megapixels on the Go 3S. A new 5nm AI chip enhances image sharpness, noise reduction, brightness, and introduces a PureVideo mode for cleaning low-light footage.
Internal microSD card storage replaces the previous workflow, improving speed and reliability. The Go 3S's magnetic mounting system is retained for hands-free usage, and new accessories and two color options (Midnight Black and Arctic White) are available.
The GO Ultra, designed for action sports, daily life, and POV capture, competes with premium compact action cameras like the DJI Action 5 Pro and GoPro Hero 13 Black. It will launch in August 2025 in two bundled options—a Standard Bundle ($449) and a Creator Bundle ($499), which includes extra accessories like a mini tripod and quick-release mounts.
Insta360 is renowned for its wide-angle lenses in its 360-degree cameras and its Leica co-branded action camera, the Ace Pro 2, is known for its low-light performance. Adam Juniper, an expert on camera drones, drone photography, and related products, has highlighted the GO Ultra's potential, making it a must-watch for tech enthusiasts and photography aficionados alike.

The GO Ultra, with its compact and wearable format, is set to redefine the action camera landscape, offering a balance between size, performance, and user convenience. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new product from Insta360.
