Colt Technology Services Hit by WarLock Ransomware Attack

Colt Technology Services, a leading global telecommunications firm, has been hit by a significant cyberattack. The company, which specializes in high-performance connectivity and communication solutions, fell victim to the WarLock ransomware on August 12, 2025. The duration of the outage remains unclear.

Colt, headquartered in London, offers a range of services including data, voice, cloud, and managed IT services. It owns and operates a vast fiber-optic network connecting thousands of buildings across multiple cities and countries. The cyberattack led to multi-day outages for several services, including hosting, porting, Colt Online, and Voice API.

A WarLock affiliate, identified as 'cnkjasdfgd,' has claimed responsibility for the attack and is selling the stolen data. The data up for sale includes sensitive information such as financial, employee, customer, and internal data, totaling around 1 million documents. The asking price is $200,000. Despite the breach, Colt's core network infrastructure remained unaffected. The company has notified authorities but has not provided a timeline for restoring operations. Colt initially described the disruption as a 'technical issue' but later confirmed it as a cyberattack and took steps to mitigate the threat.

Colt Technology Services continues to face disruptions following the WarLock ransomware attack. While the company's core network infrastructure remains intact, the breach has compromised sensitive data. Colt's IT teams are working to contain the impact and restore systems.
