Clyde & Co Opens Rotterdam Office, Bolstering European Presence

Clyde & Co has enhanced its European footprint with the launch of a new office in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The office, spearheaded by Managing Partner Arnout van der Meulen and Senior Partner Jochem van der Straaten, is a result of a merger with local firm Stadermann Luiten Advocaten (SLA).

The Rotterdam office is led by experts in liability and insurance law, including Wence Rupert, Peter Knijp, and Frits van der Woude, supported by a team of 14 from SLA. Clyde & Co CEO Matthew Kelsall commended Rotterdam's strategic location, noting it's an ideal base for serving clients in the region.

This expansion is part of Clyde & Co's ongoing global growth, with recent office openings in Accra, Boston, Cairo, Chile, Colombia, Dallas, Kumasi, Milan, and Warsaw. The firm has been progressively expanding its European presence since opening its first office in Paris in 1992, now boasting nine offices and nearly 200 lawyers across multiple countries. Earlier this year, Clyde & Co merged with Tillman Batchelor in Dallas to fortify its North American insurance practice.

The new Rotterdam office bolsters Clyde & Co's presence in Europe, offering expertise in insurance sector services, including advisory, disputes, D&O liability, and professional liability. Led by seasoned partners and supported by a skilled team, the office is well-positioned to serve clients in the region.
