Clothing samples now available for purchase on Avito platform

In a move to revolutionise the secondhand marketplace, Avito, the leading Russia-based classified platform, has launched a try-on feature for clothing, shoes, and accessories at its Branded Delivery pickup points across Russia. This innovative service allows buyers to physically inspect and try on items before making a purchase, providing a more comfortable shopping experience[1].

This try-on feature is a significant step forward in customer confidence, reducing the risk associated with buying secondhand items online. It aligns with the increasing standards in delivery and pickup services in Russia, including regulations on marketplace delivery service quality[2].

Upon arrival at the pickup point, buyers have 15 minutes to try on the item. If the item fits and the buyer is satisfied with its quality, they can confirm the purchase by entering the app code. If the item does not fit, buyers can refuse the purchase and receive a refund[1].

The try-on feature is currently available in test mode for some sellers and buyers. Sellers can enable the try-on option for their listings, which displays a "Try On Available" badge. In the event that an item is damaged during try-on, Avito will compensate the seller for the item's cost[1].

This service is unique to Avito, as no other resale platform in the world has launched similar solutions for C2C deals, as reported by Yuga.ru[1]. According to Avito Tovary's Senior Product Director, Sergei Khakimov, the try-on feature is a long-awaited innovation for Avito users[1].

Additionally, from August 11 to September 7, users can buy influencer items on Avito. And starting from July 3rd, users can get 10% cashback when purchasing items from private sellers on Avito Delivery using an Alpha Bank card[1].

It's important to note that the try-on feature is not available for underwear, swimwear, homewear, hair accessories, socks, stockings, and tights[1].

This try-on feature is part of Avito's ongoing commitment to enhancing the user experience and fostering a more confident and comfortable shopping environment for its customers.

The try-on feature, exclusive to Avito, not only boosts customer confidence in the secondhand marketplace but also extends the fashion-and-beauty section of their offerings, integrating a physical inspection and trial of clothing, shoes, and accessories before purchase. This innovation, in line with the evolving technology and delivery standards in Russia, is a step towards improving the overall shopping experience, particularly in the lifestyle domain, including fashion and beauty products.
