China's EV Charging Infrastructure Surges to 17.35 Million Connectors
China's electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure has seen significant growth. By August 2025, the country had 17.35 million charging connectors installed nationwide, with private connectors accounting for 13.03 million.
The total connected electricity capacity of private charging connectors stands at 115 gigavolt-amperes. Notably, public connectors numbered 4.32 million, marking a 37.8 percent increase from the previous year. This surge in public connectors is part of a broader trend, with a 53.5 percent increase in the total number of connectors compared to the previous year.
Public charging connectors boast a combined rated capacity of 196 gigawatts, with an average output of 45.5 kilowatts. This substantial increase in charging infrastructure reflects China's commitment to expanding its EV charging network.
