Casio's Retro-Style Desk Clock Coming to Japan on October 25
Casio is set to launch a retro-inspired desk clock in Japan on October 25. The clock, measuring 102mm x 117mm (around 4 x 4.6 inches) and 48mm thick, weighs about 6.5oz. It's exclusively available in Japan for 4,378 yen (~$30).
The Casio desk clock is a modern take on the '80s-style A158WA digital watch. It features an automatic calendar, thermometer, and humidity sensor. The time is radio-controlled for accuracy, but manual adjustment is needed for use in the United States.
The clock does not have a stopwatch or hourly chime, but it includes an alarm with a snooze button and five loudness settings. It uses amber LEDs for nighttime display and runs on a pair of AA batteries, with an estimated battery life of about a year.
BRAUN previously adapted the A158WA design for a table clock in 2021. Casio's new desk clock is inspired by the steel version of the black resin F91W, known as the A158WA.
The Casio desk clock combines retro design with modern features. It's a unique blend of nostalgia and functionality, offering an accurate, versatile timekeeping solution for Japanese consumers.
