Building Industry Professionals can now submit their projects for The Green BIM Award 2022 competition

The Green BIM Awards 2022 are set to take place in Berlin, Germany, marking the second instance of this prestigious event. Organised in conjunction with BIM-TAGE Deutschland (BTD), the awards aim to recognise and celebrate sustainable building practices in Germany.

Submissions for the awards are now open to companies, administrations, and institutions based in Germany. Interested parties can apply online, but a protection fee of 490 euros is charged for each application.

The Green BIM Awards 2022 have three categories for submissions: realised projects in new construction or renovation, innovative tools and products, and research, development, and new concepts. The jury, comprising of eleven esteemed members, will select three nominees for each category after the submission deadline on July 15, 2022.

The jury includes Annelie Casper, GEFMA chairwoman, Thomas Kirmayr, head of Mittelstand 4.0 Kompetenzzentrum Planen und Bauen, Matthias Mosig, Head of Digital Transformation TÜV Süd, Carl von Stechow, chairman of the German PropTech Initiative, and Martin Gräber from Forum Zeitschriften and Special Media. The chairperson of the jury for the Green BIM Awards 2022 is yet to be announced.

The nominees and winners will be awarded at the BIM-Gala on September 19 in the Allianz-Forum at the Brandenburg Gate. Day 2 of the event offers the BIM annual congress and the BIM-Gala Night.

Waste reduction, material reduction, reuse, integration of digital methods, degree of innovation, scalability, pioneering character, and CO2 savings are suggested approaches for submissions. Day 3, titled Building-Life Digital, is dedicated to exploring these themes further.

In addition, the public can vote via online voting on the first day of the BIM-Tage Deutschland on September 16. Day 2 and 3 will focus on various aspects of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and its role in sustainable construction.

The German Sustainable Building Council holds the patronage for the awards, underscoring its commitment to promoting sustainable building practices in Germany. The BIM-Tage Deutschland will take place on September 16, 19, and 20, 2022, in the Allianz Forum in Berlin.
