Meet Dream Security, the Cyber Firm with a Staggering €100 Million Revenue, and a High-Profile Investor: Former Chancellor Sebastian Kurz!

Get ready to delve into the world of cybersecurity with Dream Security, a company based in Tel Aviv led by none other than Sebastian Kurz, a former Austrian Chancellor. This cybersecurity powerhouse is known for its extensive work in protecting critical infrastructure using artificial intelligence. Dream Security boasts a massive revenue of approx. €100 million, making it one of the Top Players in the field[1].

Sebastian Kurz holds around 15% stake in the company, a value that places it in the hundreds of millions[2][3]. The company recently expanded, opening its doors in Vienna this week. The grand unveiling brought together none other than Kurz and his Israeli partner Shalev Hulio, the co-founder of Dream Security.

Protecting the Critical Infrastructure

What sets Dream Security apart? It's their innovative approach to cybersecurity. Using artificial intelligence, they identify vulnerabilities within systems and provide solutions to close the security gaps[1]. Imagine the time and personnel resources governments and large companies can save!

According to Hulio, "There are 3,500 cybersecurity companies that specialize in SMEs and companies, but none to protect the critical infrastructure of a state." With clients in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, and a significant investment from US-based Bain Capital, Dream Security is poised to conquer the US market[1].

From Spy Software to Cybersecurity

Before founding Dream Security, Hulio was associated with NSO Group, known for developing the spy software Pegasus. However, it was a serendipitous turn of events that led him to this realm. His initial company offered remote maintenance services for mobile phones, and an unexpected request for crime-fighting tools gave birth to Pegasus[1].

Dream Security currently employs around 200 people in Tel Aviv, and its Vienna branch, Dream Advanced Technology GmbH, now has a team of 10, led by Bernhard Bonelli, a former cabinet chief in the Federal Chancellery under Kurz[1]. Alexander Schallenberg is also part of the management team.

While details about Sebastian Kurz's personal investments are not readily available, it's clear that his involvement in Dream Security marks a significant shift in his career post-politics[2][3]. As we watch this dynamic duo take on the cybersecurity world, one thing is for sure - the future of Dream Security is gleaming brighter than ever!
