BMW's New Electric iX3 Vehicle Shows Up in Real-Life Snapshots, Coated in Alpine White
The BMW iX3, initially available as the 50 xDrive, has been joined by a more affordable variant, the iX3 40 xDrive, which was announced at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich. The event, which started today, saw BMW showcasing the electric SUV in Alpine White, without the M Sport Package.
The iX3, which is set to hit European roads in spring 2026, will also be available in a rear-wheel drive variant, the iX3 40 sDrive. For those in the US, the "40" models of the iX3 are due in early 2027.
In addition to the SUV, BMW announced that the i3, a sedan version with the same hardware and software, is scheduled to arrive in 2026. The i3 will be manufactured at the BMW Group Plant in Munich as part of the Neue Klasse electric vehicle lineup, while the iX3 will be built in Debrecen starting this November.
The base trim iX3, which was featured at the show, includes optional wheels, adding an extra cost. The 21-inch aerodynamic wheel set, codenamed 1049, adds €1,500 to the iX3's price.
For those seeking more colour options, Eucalyptus Green and Vegas Red (or Fire Red in other markets) are additional colours for the U.S.-spec iX3, and it is likely they will cost extra compared to Alpine White. Space Silver and Ocean Wave Blue are other paint options for the iX3, each costing €960 more in Germany. Sapphire Black, Polarized Grey, and M Brooklyn Grey are other paint options, each costing the same as the others (€960 more than Alpine White).
The initial version of the iX3 goes on sale next summer, with European deliveries starting even sooner. The U.S.-spec iX3 configurator is not live yet.
The iX3, with its sleek design and electric power, is set to join BMW's electric vehicle lineup, offering a more affordable option for those seeking a sustainable driving experience.
