BMW USA Sales Surge in Q3 2025, Led by X3 and 5 Series

BMW USA has reported mixed sales figures for the first nine months of 2025, with some models surging while others struggle. The BMW X3 and 5 Series led the charge, while the BMW XM lagged behind.

BMW USA's total sales increased by 8.5% to 275,385 units in the first nine months of 2025. This growth was driven by a 24% increase in shipments during Q3 2025, reaching 96,886 units. The focus on SUVs was evident, with the BMW X3 and X5 topping the sales charts.

The BMW X3 saw a remarkable 37% increase in sales in Q3 2025, with 20,980 units sold. Meanwhile, the BMW 5 Series experienced triple-digit growth, surging by 202.2% to 7,578 units. The BMW 7 Series also performed well, with a 59.5% increase in sales to 2,824 cars.

However, not all models fared well. The BMW iX took a 33% hit in Q3 2025, with overall demand slipping 11.6% in 2025. The BMW 8 Series continues to decline ahead of its production end in 2026. The BMW XM remains the worst-selling product in the US, excluding discontinued models like the i3 and 6 Series GT.

BMW USA's sales in the first nine months of 2025 show a mixed bag of results. While SUVs like the X3 and 5 Series drove growth, electric and some luxury models struggled. As the market evolves, BMW will need to adapt its strategy to maintain its competitive edge.
