Apple Unveils New MacBook Pro Models with M2 Pro and M2 Max
Apple has announced the release of the highly anticipated 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, equipped with the M2 Pro and M2 Max processors. These new devices are now available to order in 27 countries and regions, including Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, New Zealand, and Singapore, with deliveries starting from February 3.
The new MacBook Pro models offer significant performance improvements. Compiling in Xcode on the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro is up to 2.5 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro. Image processing in Adobe Photoshop is up to 40 percent faster, and the new 16-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro offers effects rendering in Cinema 4D up to 6 times faster.
The MacBook Pro with M2 Max takes performance to a new level. It features up to 38 cores in its GPU, delivering up to 30 percent greater graphics performance over M1 Max. With up to 96GB of unified memory, it can handle intensive graphics workloads such as creating scenes with extreme 3D geometry and textures.
The new MacBook Pro models also come with Wi-Fi 6E for faster wireless connectivity, as well as more advanced HDMI, to support 8K displays up to 60Hz and 4K displays up to 240Hz.
In terms of pricing, the new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro starts at $1,999 (US), and $1,849 (US) for education. The new 16-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro starts at $2,499 (US), and $2,299 (US) for education.
Every customer who buys a Mac from Apple can enjoy a free Online Personal Session with an Apple Specialist. The new MacBook Pro models will begin arriving to customers and will be in Apple Store locations and Apple Authorized Resellers starting Tuesday, January 24.
In addition to the performance improvements, Apple has also focused on improving the overall user experience. Color grading in DaVinci Resolve on the new 16-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro is up to 2 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro. Rendering titles and animations in Motion is up to 20 percent faster than the previous generation MacBook Pro with M2 Pro. Compiling in Xcode is nearly 25 percent faster than the previous generation MacBook Pro with M2 Pro.
