AMD Launches RX 7700: A New Graphics Card With Unique Features

AMD has launched the RX 7700 non-XT, a new graphics card that could potentially overshadow other models in its lineup. Priced at over $350, it offers a significant decrease in gaming performance compared to its XT counterpart, raising concerns about cannibalisation within AMD's product range.

The RX 7700, unveiled by ASRock with a custom 'Challenger' design, boasts impressive clock speeds of 2,041 MHz in game mode and boosts up to 2,459 MHz. Under the hood, it packs 80 AI accelerators and 40 MB of Infinity Cache, along with 2,560 Stream Processors and 40 Compute Units. However, these specifications fall short compared to the RX 7700 XT, which offers 3,456 Stream Processors and 54 Compute Units.

Power consumption is also higher, at 263W compared to the RX 7700 XT's 245W. The RX 7700 comes with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory and a 256-bit bus, as silently listed by AMD. The company officially announced the product on September 18, 2025.

AMD's RX 7700 non-XT, with its unique features and performance capabilities, may pose internal competition within AMD's graphics card lineup. While it falls short of the RX 7700 XT in terms of raw power, it still offers a compelling option for gamers. Meanwhile, AMD's RX 9060 XT 16 GB, with its slightly superior performance and richer featureset, remains a strong contender in the high-end graphics card market.
