AI Mask Integration Announcement in Telegram by Durov
Telegram Integrates Elon Musk's xAI; Axes $300 Million Deal
In a significant development, Telegram, the widely-used messaging platform, has announced its partnership with Elon Musk's AI company, xAI. According to the agreement, Telegram will receive $300 million in cash and assets, along with a 50% share of the revenue from xAI subscriptions sold through its platform.
The partnership aims to integrate xAI's AI assistant, known as Grok, into Telegram's services. This move will expand the potential audience of Grok by approximately 1 billion users, as per Pavel Durov, the creator of Telegram.
Grok, with its advanced AI features such as threaded chats, smart text editing, chat summaries, document digests, inbox agents, and group chat moderation, will be accessible to all Telegram users following the integration. Additionally, all users will have access to fact-checking tools, text editing, and chat summarization in Grok, with neural networks integrated into the search.
Durov assured that Telegram user data will not be used to train xAI models. At the time of publication, xAI had not commented on the partnership. The deal is expected to commence this summer, offering Telegram users advanced AI technology. It is essential to note that, despite the agreement being in principle, no official deal has been signed as of yet.
This partnership is expected to bolster Telegram's financial position, providing a substantial revenue stream. With its vast user base, the integration could significantly increase Grok's exposure and adoption, diversifying its user engagement and potentially enhancing its adaptability across various demographics and use cases.
